Friends 11 Cup: Kinoton Ensures Ideal “Public Viewing”

Kinoton Digital Systems is supporting the 4th FRIENDS ELEVEN CUP organized by MMmedia GmbH by providing equipment and services. By installing a high-quality projection solution that included a giant screen measuring six by five meters, Kinoton enabled flawless “public viewing” (the term used in Germany to describe the viewing of a televised soccer match or other sporting event on a large screen by a crowd) in the sports hall of the Hamburg Football Association in the Hamburg district of Jenfeld.

For the event, the service technicians of Kinoton’s northern German branch specially assembled a “mobile” projection and audio solution in the sports hall of the Hamburg Football Association. It was used to show the German national team’s second match in the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, in which it played against Ghana.

The Friends 11 Cup is a soccer event at which cinema operators and industry representatives gather each year. It’s an opportunity for them to cultivate existing contacts and forge new ones in a pleasant atmosphere over good food. The Friends 11 Cup has evolved into a very popular industry get-together. The one-day tournament was initiated in 2010 by MMmedia GmbH, a provider of special services for the cinema and film distribution industry, with the basic idea of giving cinema industry players an opportunity to bond. Besides being a soccer event, the Friends 11 Cup is thus also a major platform for networking in a relaxed, informal atmosphere.
